The Water Here Is Hard on Pipes
Some homes around Ocean View are on community water. Plenty of others are on a private well. Either way, what comes out of the ground on this part of the shore is tough on a plumbing system.
Hard water leaves scale inside a water heater and shortens its life by years. Acidic well water eats at copper from the inside until it opens pinhole leaks, usually in a ceiling, usually at the worst time. Some wells carry iron that stains fixtures, or sulfur that makes the hot water smell like eggs.
That’s why we test water, treat it, replace heaters and re-pipe houses under one roof. On the shore those four jobs are the same job. Fix the pipe without fixing the water and you’ll be doing it twice.

Whole home re-piping
Whole-house re-pipes and main water line replacement. If your house was built between the late 1970s and the mid 1990s, there’s a fair chance it has polybutylene supply lines. Older shore cottages still have galvanized pipe. And acidic well water will pinhole good copper from the inside. One leak is a repair. A second leak in the same year is the house telling you something.
Water heater
Repair and replacement, tank and tankless, electric and propane. Hard water is why heaters here rarely reach the age on the label. Scale builds on the element and the tank works harder every year. A tankless unit is a real upgrade on this shore, but only behind a softener. Without one it clogs.
Water treatment and testing
We test first, then treat what the test finds. Softeners for hardness. Neutralizers for acidic well water that is eating your copper. Filtration for iron staining and sulfur smell. Buying out here? Test the well before you close, not after.

How much does it cost to renlace a water heater?
It depends on four things: tank or tankless, electric, natural gas, or propane, whether the existing connections meet current code, and whether your water needs treatment to protect the new unit. A straight swap of a like-for-like tank is the low end. A tankless conversion with a softener is the high end. We look at what you have and give you a written price before any work starts.
How do i know it I need re-piping or just a repair:
Tell us your date when you call and we’ll work to it. A lot of what we do is exactly this: someone heading back north in three days with a leak they’d rather not leave behind. Same-day is often possible and next-day usually is. If we can’t make your window we’ll say so on the phone instead of letting you find out on the morning you’re packing the car.

Do you work on rental and vacation properties?
Yes, and a lot of what we do is exactly that. We’ll coordinate with a property manager, work around Saturday turnovers, and get in when the owner’s three states away. For a house that sits empty over the winter, ask us about shut-off and drain-down in the fall and a startup check before your first spring guests. A pipe that lets go in January doesn’t get found until April.
